BRIT Conferences

Since 1994, the Border Regions in Transition (BRIT) Conferences are among the leading international scientific conferences on interdisciplinary research on borders and borderlands. Meetings have been held in such diverse locations as Berlin (1994), San Diego (1999), Victoria-Bellingham (2008), and Nigeria-Benin (2018). Following the conference organized between Benin and Nigeria in 2018, and a gap between conferences because of COVID-19, BRIT 2024 is the 16th edition of the conference. The conference serves as a global forum for border scholars engaged in research dealing with borders and their ramifications, irrespective of their disciplinary backgrounds, methodological approaches, or geographical scope.
